Prosthodontists of Costa Rica

Is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment, and maintenance of the oral function and health of patients with conditions like missing or deficient teeth. They are known for being the experts in dental rehabilitation and mastered procedures like crowns, caps, bridges, veneers, removable partial dentures, dentures, implants among others. The training for this technique is very difficult and requieres many years of practice to get the neccesary perfection. They are also known as the architects of the dental proyect. Prosthodontists are not cosmetic dentist because of the nature of their training and preparation.

But, what is the Maxillofacial prosthodontics ? It has been qualified as a subspecialty of the prosthodontics genre. The Maxillofacial prosthodontists treat patients who have acquired defects of the head and neck (maxillofacial) region due to surgery, trauma, and/or birth defects. Artificial eyes (see Ocularist, Ocular prosthetic, ears, and maxillary obturators are commonly planned and fabricated by maxillofacial prosthodontists). Other less commonly employed prostheses include mouth devices used by amputees to aid in daily activities, tracheostomy obturators, and craniofacial prosthesis.
